How to get first class train travel cheaper

Travel first class cheaper
First class travel

Love travelling by train? But get sick of the overcrowding or no seats or feel it's just too noisy?

No problem I'm going to tell you how I got first class train travel for ALOT CHEAPER and will put another blog post on for what it's like in first class.

So having just buying my new car I wanted to travel by train after all it's normally the fastest way! Searching for a train ticket from Darlington to Inverness (Scotland) approx 5 hours away on a train.

Searching for train tickets it was going to cost me £119 as it was last minute my fault leaving it late. Never mind I had a plan.

Standard Class - £119.00

First Class - £289.00

So searching for discount codes to see if I could get it cheaper (Common why pay more when you don't have too) I come across an website called. Seatfrog

Seatfrog Cheaper Travel

You have to download the app which is available on Apple and Android,

And here is how you get it cheaper. So you put in where your going you got to put in the main line not small train station so for me it was Darlington to Inverness.

It brings up a list of train times so this is an upgrade service.

You buy the standard train ticket at the time it was £119 and then you find the train time you booked on and you have too choices

  • Pay to upgrade £95.00 + £3 booking

  • Bid and Auction so I bidded my max bid of £20 + £3.00 booking

So if you go first option it would cost you £98.00 plus £119 = £217 which is still £72 cheaper then booking it first class direct what a massive saving

But I don't do that because I want to save more I always go for second option and bid like £20 to £30 as my max bid and it's like an auction highest bidder gets it but I've ALWAYS won it for approx between £20 to £30 but I won it this time for £17.00 yes you read it right £17.00 plus £3.00 booking fee for an total of £20.00

So I paid for my original ticket of £119 (would of been cheaper if I Pre-Booked) plus £20.00 including Seatfrog fees so my new total was £139 for first class

That was a whopping £150.00 Disocunt just for me putting in a couple of minutes work.

Another tip is: Sometimes you want 2 seats but the train says it's FULL not sure why but for some reason it normally says full or close to full

If you can't get 2 seats together then buy them seperate normally 99% of the time if you ask the conductor if you can sit together they will normally find you seats but if not always you have your own bigger seat and an relaxing time.

So overall I really recommend seat frog get it downloaded it just make train travel a lot more better and fun and cheaper too.

I always go by first class now, So give this post a like and a share to your friends and family help them go first class for cheaper it's a much better experience
